Delta Air Lines and Hawks CEO Steve Koonin debuted the newly-named club at the Hawks preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night.
The club is only for those with courtside tickets, which are sold out for the season.
Delta already has Sky360 clubs at SunTrust Park, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and at stadiums and arenas in other cities around the country.
The club at State Farm Arena, which first debuted in 2017 as the Hawks Bar and Courtside Club, includes a bar on the floor behind one of the baskets as well as a lounge with food inside the club.
“We want a place where we can see, but where we can also be seen,” Koonin said.
Delta was already the official airline of the Hawks. With the airline’s multi-year, multi-million dollar sponsorship, the club is now emblazoned with the Delta logo and plane cutout designs in booth areas.
Koonin said the Delta name on the club will also be visible in TV broadcasts of the game, making it “part of the game.”
“This is the hometown airline. [Customers] would expect to see Delta involved,” said Delta chief human resources officer Joanne Smith at the Monday night ribbon-cutting. We want to be viewed as part of the fabric of Atlanta.”
The club is also meant to remind people that Delta has Sky Club airport lounges. “It’s about the experience,” Smith said.
