The advisory was for Gordon, Pickens, Floyd, Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth, Hall, Banks, Polk, Paulding, Cobb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Haralson, Carroll, Douglas and DeKalb counties.
"Winds will continue to diminish below advisory criteria over the next few hours," states the National Weather Service.
