The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 5:50 a.m. on Thursday for freezing drizzle until 9 a.m.
"Patches of rain and drizzle are lifting northeastward over the area early this morning with a slight chance of freezing drizzle toward Highway 301 and near and west of I-95. This activity will continue through about 9 to 10 a.m. and diminish thereafter. At this time, no accumulation is anticipated. In any case, the roads will be slick. Use extra caution while driving and slow down to reduce your risk," says the NWS.
