October 18, 2022 Atlanta: Passengers made their way out of the Marta Station North Avenue in Midtown on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022 as temperatures were in the 40s Tuesday in Atlanta for the coldest morning the city has seen in six months. It hadn’t been that chilly since April 19, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan, It could be even colder Wednesday morning, when all of North Georgia will be under a freeze warning. “The outdoor forecast is still looking good today, tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday, but you just need to kind of bundle up,” Monahan said. “We haven’t had to do that for a while. Tomorrow morning (Wednesday), a lot of us are going to start near freezing in town,” he said. “Inside I-285, I don’t think we will have a freeze, but outside it a pretty good chance we will have a freeze.” The city’s projected low is 35 degrees Wednesday, and a high of 58 is in the forecast. Monahan expects those numbers to start inching up toward the end of the week, getting back to average levels by Saturday afternoon with a projected high of 74. (John Spink / John.Spink@ajc.com)
