On Thursday at 2:37 p.m. a lake wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Friday 10 a.m. until Saturday 1 a.m. The advisory is for Lincoln, McDuffie, Columbia, Richmond and Burke counties.

The NWS states, "Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph possible."

"Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes may create hazardous conditions for small craft," explains the NWS. "Boaters on area lakes should use extra caution since strong winds and rough waves can overturn small craft."
