Airbnb now lets neighbors file noise complaints

Nobody likes a tattle-tell but sometimes, the neighbors are just too darn loud.

And in the age of Airbnb, when that evening's neighbors might actually be strangers staying a night or two, noise can become a real issue. That's why the home-sharing service added a new section of it website this week where people who believe their neighbors might actually be Airbnb hosts can file a complaint.

"Complaints and issues are incredibly rare," Airbnb said on its blog. "But we always want to do everything we can to help our community members be good neighbors in the places our hosts call home."

Neighbors can submit information without disclosing their name to a host — or with your permission, Airbnb can pass along their name to let the host follow up directly. From noise disturbances to criminal activity, people can file a complaint for most issues that might arise.
