The Associated Press has released its preseason top 25 poll and, not surprisingly, the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes reclaim the top spot.
For local fans, both Georgia and Georgia Tech made the cut, with the Bulldogs coming in at No. 9 and the Yellow Jackets and No. 16.
TCU comes in at No. 2, followed by Alabama – the highest-ranked SEC school.
In all, eight SEC teams are in the top 25 – more than any other conference – making up nearly one-third of the poll.
The Pac-12, led by No. 7 Oregon, has six schools in the rankings, followed by the Big Ten (3) Big 12 (3) and ACC (3) and the Mountain West (Boise State). Notre Dame is independent.
