Warm breezes and sunny skies are expected to stay with metro Atlanta the rest of this week.
It’s “beautiful now,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “We’re sunny, warm, even a little warmer than yesterday’s gorgeous weather.”
Highs are expected to remain in the 80s the rest of this week with rain chances near the weekend.
Atlanta reached a high of 79 degrees Monday.
Tuesday temperatures have already surpassed the average high of 78 for this time of year.
Currently, the temperature is 84 degrees in Atlanta.
“Humidity is low, and just a nice comfortable breeze,” Nitz said.
With the warm air, pollen is on the uptick.
The pollen count increased from a low 6 Monday to a moderate 45 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.
Atlanta reachead a high of 85 degrees by 6 p.m., according to Channel 2. And that may not be the highest temperature this week, Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.
“Some areas may be near 90 degrees this week,” she said.
Highs are forecast to reach 87 Wednesday and Thursday in Atlanta.
The next chance of rain is Friday. According to the latest forecast, there is a 40 percent chance of rain that day and a 60 percent chance Saturday morning.
