Temperatures lowered into the 50s as  showers scattered across parts of metro Atlanta.

Jonesboro and Lithonia were already picking up showers just after 1:40 p.m., Channel 2 reported. Light, spotty showers are expected to continue through the evening.

“We’ll see a few of these light showers and sprinkles move right on through the metro area,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Isolated showers are expected to last through 9 p.m.

Don’t expect raindrops to last. A dry Friday should bring a high of 56 degrees.

Temps were 57 degrees in Atlanta, 48 in Blairsville and 59 in Griffin before 7 p.m.
