Temperatures are already in the 80s and they are expected to increase even more before the day ends, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Currently, the temperature is 83 degrees in Atlanta. The expected high is 84, which is 7 degrees higher than the average for this time of year.

Enjoy the summer-like weather because it won’t last long, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

“Rain and cooler weather (are) right around the corner,” he said.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns has your Wednesday evening weather forecast.

A cold front Thursday is expected to bring gusty winds, rain and cooler temperatures, Nitz said. A wind advisory for metro Atlanta and other parts of North Georgia is scheduled to take effect at 8 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain and an isolated risk of severe storms north of I-20, Channel 2 reported. South of I-85 and I-20, the risk increases.

According to the latest forecast, highs are expected to drop from 84 degrees Wednesday to 71 Thursday and 58 Friday.

Pollen levels have not changed much. Wednesday’s count was 118 particles per cubic meter of air, down from Tuesday’s count of 119, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.
