Several metro Atlanta schools announced closings Wednesday due to the tornado watch, hail and severe thunderstorms in the area.

Georgia State University was not one of them.

Around 6 a.m. Wednesday, the school tweeted out that its campus would remain open.

As expected, students weren’t thrilled and didn’t hesitate to voice their frustrations.

Whoever is behind Georgia State’s Twitter account didn’t hold back either, and responded to students’ tweets with enough sass to offend at least a few and later, warrant an apology.

Here’s a look at some of the cheeky clap-backs from Georgia State’s Twitter account today:

Some students found the tweets both entertaining and amusing.

But others were slightly displeased by the tweets, writing that the university’s messages were unprofessional and insensitive. One Twitter user even threatened to report them to the university’s leadership.

Eventually, Georgia State issued an apology to anyone offended and redirected students to the school website for updates.

Severe storming recorded from apartments off Cumberland Parkway and Paces Ferry Road and near the Atlanta Beltline.
