Temperatures were 38 degrees in Atlanta and Griffin and 29 in Blairsville just before 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Highs will be in the 40s for the next four days, Channel 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns said. With the wind chill, temps actually feel colder than that. Burns said gusts were at 14 mph.

With the cool weather in, it could come as a shock that pollen has popped back up.

The pollen count is up to 171 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air. That’s up from 122 Thursday, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.

While far short of last year's season high of 4,107 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air, the number is significant.

Pollen levels haven’t been this high since May 2, when Atlanta had 179 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air. And the pollen count this time last year was 2.
