This time of year, we’re typically in the 20 or 30-degree range.
But as our past weather history has indicated, Georgia weather — specifically Atlanta— is anything but normal.
“We went from the 40s earlier this morning, climbing quickly now through the 60s,” meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “And I (passed) 70 degrees in many spots this afternoon.”
By 11:30 a.m., Atlanta had already surpassed the 54-degree average high for this time of year. Atlanta reached a high of 73 degrees making this the 11th day in January that temperatures have been at or above 70.
Temperatures were 59 degrees in Atlanta , 40 in Blairsville and 49 in Griffin before 10:30 p.m.

The warm highs are expected to be the upper 60s, according to Channel 2 Action News.
But don’t think it will last too long. A cold front coming through could bring light sprinkles Thursday night and lower temps, Nitz said. Temperatures are expected to reach the 50s that day.
