Atlanta Falcons fans rejoiced while University of Georgia fans might have cringed.

In the final seconds of the Falcons’ 34-31 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, Seattle coach Pete Carroll called on kicker Blair Walsh to attempt a 52-yard field goal to send the game into overtime.

The former Georgia kicker attempted the kick with seven seconds left, but it came up a yard short.

Walsh’s longest field goal made in the NFL is a 56-yarder during his rookie season with the Vikings.

Walsh, who played at Georgia from 2008-11, was picked up by the Seahawks in February after being released from the Vikings because of his struggles in 2016.

His senior year at Georgia, Walsh had a 60 percent field goal percentage, the lowest of his collegiate career.

This season, Walsh has made 14 of 18 field goals and 19 of 20 extra-point attempts.
