Washington Redskins running back Keith Marshall will miss the 2017 football season after tearing the patella tendon in his right knee during Saturday's training camp, according to the Washington Post.
The former University of Georgia running back missed his rookie season with an elbow injury and was expected to compete for a roster spot at training camp. Instead, Marshall was carted off the practice field and underwent testing on his knee on Saturday immediately after he was injured during practice, the Washington Post reported.
Marshall suffered a torn ACL in 2013, ending his sophomore season at Georgia after three games. From 2012-2015 at Georgia, Marshall accounted for 1,379 yards and 15 overall touchdowns in 33 games.
Marshall was selected in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Redskins. Marshall ran a 4.31 40-yard dash at the 2016 NFL Combine— the fastest time recorded.
