With the 2017 NFL season firmly in the rear view mirror, the Atlanta Falcons are looking for ways to contend for next season's Super Bowl. That begins this offseason. ESPN.com writer Bill Barnwell lists his top-five priorities that the Falcons should focus in their downtime.

1. Pick up Vic Beasley Jr.’s fifth-year option

It was a bit of down year for Beasley, who dealt with a position change from defensive end to outside linebacker and a nagging hamstring injury. Coach Dan Quinn said Beasley is moving back to defensive end permanently in 2018. During his Pro Bowl 2016 campaign as an edge rusher, he recorded 15.5 sacks and six forced fumbles.

2. Get Matt Ryan's extension done

The organization said signing their franchise quarterback was a top priority this offseason. With recent quarterback deals soaring into the stratosphere, it will likely be a nice payday for the 2016 MVP.

3. And then extend Jake Matthews

Stable offensive line play is a must to be a Super Bowl contender. Matthews has been a solid left tackle for the Falcons since the team selected him sixth overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.

4. ... then try to extend Grady Jarrett

The 24-year old had his best season at defensive tackle, with 34 tackles and four sacks.

5. Draft more help at defensive tackle

Given that Dontari Poe is a free agent the Falcons need to add depth on the interior of the defensive line.
