Georgia Tech cornerback Dorian Walker decided to transfer. The redshirt freshman from Kennesaw and Mount Paran Christian School played a backup role this season and contributed on special teams.
Walker will not take play in the Yellow Jackets’ bowl game. He played in all 12 games and was credited with three tackles, an interception and three passes defensed.
"Thank you to the entire Georgia Tech community for the opportunity that I have been given to play football and further my academic studies," Walker said in a statement on his Twitter account. "I appreciate all the love that has been shown to me and my teammates over these past two years. After a long and prayerful consideration, I have decided to move on from Georgia Tech. I will be transferring in January to continue my football and academic career!"
Walker has three seasons of eligibility remaining, but has already used a redshirt season. He could play immediately at an FCS institution, but would have to sit out a season and then have two left if he were to go to another FBS school.
Walker's decision became public on the same day that B-back Marcus Marshall also announced his decision to leave Tech.
