Georgia Tech A-back Lynn Griffin has left the team for personal reasons. Griffin was not with the team Saturday against North Carolina after playing in the first eight games of the season. Griffin’s departure was reported first by Rivals.

Griffin is expected to remain in school and graduate, according to a team spokesman.

Griffin is a redshirt senior from Jacksonville, Fla. He has played at A-back since midway through last season, when he switched from defensive back as the team was short of A-backs due to injuries. Griffin had been behind four other A-backs in the rotation and saw occasional playing time. He had 13 carries for 56 yards.
