John Hart is resigning from his senior adviser role to pursue other opportunities outside the Braves organization, the team announced Friday morning.

Hart relinquished his role as president of baseball operations upon the hiring of new general manager Alex Anthopoulos, which became official Monday. Braves CEO Terry McGuirk said Hart was moved into a ‘senior adviser’ capacity, active immediately.

Hart had been president of baseball operations since 2014.

Hart thanked Braves fans and John Schuerholz in a statement.

The AJC will have more to come.
