Braves pitching prospect Chris Ellis allowed a hit to Tim Tebow, who also stole second base and eventually scored a run, in the Arizona Fall League Thursday night.

Tebow singled on a sharp line drive to center field in the second inning and then swiped second base on Ellis and Braves minor-league catcher Jacob Nottingham. Tebow scored on a teammate's three-run homer off Ellis.

Tebow, attempting to make the switch from football player to pro baseball player, played left field for the Scottsdale Scorpions. He went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts and is hitting .125.

Ellis started for the host Salt Valley Rafters and lasted just 2 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and five earned runs. He walked three and struck out none. His ERA soared to 7.27.

Braves infield prospect Travis Demeritte also played for Salt River. He was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs and is hitting .275.

Scottsdale won the game 9-7.
