The Braves are bringing back FanFest and renaming it Chop Fest, to be held for the first time at SunTrust Park on the weekend of Jan. 27-28.

They’re also combining it with the Braves Hall of Fame induction that’s been held at midseason in the past. The induction gala will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 (Saturday) at the Coca-Cola Roxy in The Battery adjacent to SunTrust Park, with inductees – the Braves used the plural in their announcement -- to be released later.

Most weekend events at Chop Fest will be free and open to the public and the Braves will announce specifics in early January. It’ll be spread not just at the ballpark but at sites in The Battery.

Among the activities: autograph sessions, photo opportunities including selfies with players, panel discussions, clinics, games for kids, an art show, interactive activities, live entertainment and food tastings.

An array of Braves players, coaches, former players and top prospects will attend the event, though the team hasn’t announced any names yet.

Tickets for the Hall of Fame induction gala can be purchased at www.braves.com/gala.

There will be no Braves Country Caravan this year. The team in recent years has usually done one or the other – fan festival or caravan – but not both.
