A driver was arrested Thursday after a pedestrian was hit and killed on Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Gwinnett County police said.
“The driver remained at the scene and was arrested for driving without a license,” Cpl. Deon Washington said.
The pedestrian was walking outside of a crosswalk, Washington said.
The crash temporarily shut down Jimmy Carter Boulevard between Britt Road and Lawrenceville Highway about 4 a.m. The roadway reopened just after 6:30 a.m.
The names of the driver and the pedestrian, the cause of the crash and other details have not been released.
