A movie production in metro Atlanta has prompted traffic detours in Midtown.

The set of the latest “Avengers” movie means detour signs are out on 14th Street, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The scene being filmed involves characters in distress, but production officials took care to allay any concerns by posting a sign nearby that let everyone know the mayhem was all pretend: “We are filming an accident scene. Do not be alarmed by the presence of actors that appear to be wounded or that are dressed as emergency personnel. Sorry for any inconvenience.”

The detours are temporary, according to a Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman.

“If I have a disruption on my daily route, it can change my attitude when I get to work,” Natalie Dale said. “I make sure to check before I leave the house where those lane closures (are) so I can be proactive and make those alternate plans, making different plans if possible.”

Crescent Street is another road that is beset with traffic problems, Channel 2 reported.

It is not clear how long the detours will continue. Alternate routes are advised.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner.
