Q&A on the News

Q: I have run the Peachtree Road Race 38 of its 48 years. I am interested in knowing how many documented runners have completed 35 or more races. The Atlanta Track Club should have these statistics, and I believe the Atlanta running community would find these numbers of interest.

—Bill Eavenson, Atlanta

A: The 2017 AJC Peachtree Road Race had 808 registered runners and walkers who have completed the race 35 or more times, according to data from the Atlanta Track Club.

Only one person — Bill Thorn of Tyrone — has participated in all 48 Peachtree Road Races.

Q: Georgia reciprocates with North Carolina and Florida on accepting toll road passes. Why not South Carolina?

—Jim Barker, Sandy Springs

A: Florida and North Carolina were the first states that the State Road & Tollway Authority established electronic toll collection interoperability agreements with, but it is actively working to add more, spokesman Matt Markham told Q&A on the News via email.

“South Carolina is one of the states we are working with, and we anticipate being interoperable with them in the first half of 2018,” he wrote.
