Temps on the rise in metro Atlanta

Temperatures in metro Atlanta are increasing, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Temps were 69 degrees in Atlanta, 56 in Blairsville and 70 in Griffin after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday — a far cry from earlier in the week when metro Atlanta woke up to temperatures in the teens.

Thursday could bring higher temperatures.

“By tomorrow morning, it will be unusually mild for the morning,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

The average low for this time of year is 34. Metro Atlanta is expected to start the day in the low 50s.

“This is about where our high temperatures should be,” Nitz said.

Highs are expected to reach 69 degrees Thursday and 71 degrees Friday in Atlanta, according to Channel 2.
