The teenage driver of a car that overturned on a Henry County road in May, killing a Dutchtown High School student who was a passenger, has been charged with vehicular homicide.

Dequarius Greene, 19, was arrested Monday and charged with first degree felony homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle, speeding, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane, according to the Henry County Jail.

Police said Greene was driving a Nissan Maxima that ran off Pates Creek Road near Stockbridge around 3:40 p.m. on May 7. The Maxima hit a ditch, flipped over and landed in a yard. Greene and two other Dutchtown High School students inside the car were ejected.

One of them, 16-year-old Jasmine Poole, died at the scene.
