Man shot dead on University Avenue in Atlanta identified

Police said one person was shot in the head in southwest Atlanta Saturday.

Atlanta police have identified the man shot to death off University Avenue Saturday afternoon as 29-year-old Claude Dickerson, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Dickerson, of Montgomery, Ala., was killed just before 3 p.m. in the 600 block of the street. The TV station reported he was shot in the back of the head.

No motive or suspects have been announced and the incident remains under investigation.
