Norcross police are selling five of their old cars to the public, and you can buy one. No, you can’t keep the siren.

The cars’ police gear, including lights, cages and radios, will be removed so they can be used as regular vehicles, Sgt. Robert Braud said.

The cars for sale are a 2009 Dodge Charger, a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado K150 truck, a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe, a 2004 Crown Victoria and a 2006 Ford Expedition. All have more than 100,000 miles on their odometers and are no longer considered fit for police use.

The cars will be sold through a “sealed bid” process, Braud said. Bids can be delivered to the Norcross Police Department headquarters on Lawrenceville Street Northwest from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. between March 28 and April 12.

Potential buyers with the highest bids will be contacted after April 12. The department will accept cash, money order, debit and credit payments.
