The body of a 19-year-old from Forsyth County was pulled from Lake Lanier, the Dawson County sheriff said.

Katherine Scott Landrum was reported missing Tuesday night about 9:30 p.m., Sheriff Jeff Johnson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday.

She had gone to visit a friend in the area of the Athens Boat Club, which is on Dogwood Drive in Dawsonville.

Landrum was alone when she disappeared, the sheriff said.

The Department of Natural Resources, Dawson County Fire/Rescue Division, the Georgia State Patrol and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the search, Johnson said. GSP provided a helicopter and the sheriff’s office offered police dogs.

DNR crews, who used sonar, found the body about midday Wednesday, according to the sheriff.

“No foul play is suspected,” Johnson said.

In a post Wednesday night, the sheriff said: “Our prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Miss Landrum. Thank you to everyone that helped during the search and recovery effort. Please keep the family in your prayers.”
