A woman recently had her purse stolen from her car while she was filling it with gas at a QuikTrip, said Cobb County police.

This allegedly happened at 10:40 a.m. Friday at the 2804 Paces Ferry Road location of QT in Vinings, cops said.

Police said the woman was pumping gas when a vehicle pulled up beside her. A man then got out, opened her car door and took the woman’s purse.

She told the cops that she never saw the other car pull up.

The department said investigators think this is related to several similar gas station pumping thefts — nicknamed “slider” thefts —in metro Atlanta but didn’t answer when asked why.

Cops didn’t give a description of the car that pulled up.

Anyone with information can call Cobb police at 770-499-3945.
