A Savannah woman died Friday after she fell while walking on rocks at a waterfall at a state park in Middle Georgia, an official said.

Daniella Flanagan, 38, was walking at High Falls State Park in Monroe County when “she slipped and fell,” said Sgt. Lawson Bittick of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Flanagan’s husband called 911 about 5:45 p.m., the Telegraph of Macon reported. Responders got her out of the water, performed CPR and got her breathing again, Bittick said.

Flanagan was taken to a local hospital and died within an hour, according to Bittick. The GBI will perform an autopsy.

“There are signs posted by the state park that say ‘do not climb on rocks,’ “ Bittick told the Telegraph.
