S.J. Collins Enterprises has announced five retail tenants for North Decatur Square, the mixed-use development northeast of Decatur city limits that’ll be anchored by a 365 By Whole Foods store.

The businesses are Avalon Nail Spa, gusto! Wood Fire Grill, Hollywood Feed, Sage Dental and a Mexican/Korean restaurant called Takorea. All are expected to open in fall 2018.

S.J. Collins partner Jeff Garrison said the 11-acre development will eventually include a bank and two more restaurants new to metro Atlanta.

For now Whole Foods is also scheduled to open in fall 2018. Collins has collaborated with the Austin, Texas-based grocery chain on 18 developments. At 35,000 square feet, the Decatur store is the largest 365 nationally either now open or on the drawing board.

North Decatur Square will total 86,000 square feet of grocery, restaurants and specialty retail, along with approximately 288 apartments, 10 percent set aside for affordable housing. The apartments, Garrison said, will open in spring 2019.

The site previously housed a Nalley Nissan and Infiniti dealership, both now relocated to Doraville. Garrison said demolition of the dealership structures should start late April/early May.

He added that the project has also been approved by DeKalb County for sewer capacity.
