A month later, police are still searching for two men accused in the death of a man following a chance encounter at a DeKalb County QuikTrip.

Leroy Copney and Jilani Bakhari have been charged with murder in 30-year-old Snellville resident Andrew Spencer’s shooting.

Spencer died after he was shot at the Chamblee gas station in a "senseless" act after a disagreement reportedly started over hot dog buns.

Capt. Ernesto Ford said the department could offer no updates on the case Tuesday other than the fact that the suspects remain wanted.

Spencer’s friend Quintin Heard has said they were coming from nearby Follies strip club when they stopped at the gas station.

A man at the hot dog stand couldn’t find the buns. Spencer got in front of the man to help, but Heard said he soon saw the stranger walk out of the store.

An argument apparently kicked up outside.

“And the next thing I know, he just pulled a gun out, and then he just started shooting,” Heard said.

Police have said the suspects have gang ties. They sped away in a Maserati, which was later recovered.

Anyone with information can call 911 or the Chamblee Police Department at 770-986-5005 (press #7) or 470-395-2413.
