UPDATE: The restaurant was re-inspected Jan. 11 and received a 96/A. The report noted two new violations, including "soup cooling in an ice bath completely covered with lid," when air should be allowed to escape the pan while cooling.

Vice President of Marketing Chris Campagna said the failed December inspection “was an aberration that was alarming for everyone,” and assures the “situation will never happen again.”

Regarding the re-inspection, Campagna said the group expects to score “even higher on the next inspection.”

“We missed a higher score as one (of) our one-third round pans of freshly prepared soup was in an ice bath (the recommended procedure) but it had the lid on it, the lid should have been off,” he said.

ORIGINAL STORY (published Dec. 27): A fast casual restaurant failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting that there was packaged red meat in a container that was collecting ceiling water from a leak.

The Fresh to Order location in Johns Creek scored a 59/U following the Thursday evaluation. Its prior score, from August, was a 99.

According to the report, there were “in use utensils stored in a container of soiled room temperature water.”

Officials also reported build up of debris on a ventilation hood above a fryer and build up of food debris on the floor.

Franchise owner Jay Patel said all violations were corrected immediately.

“We appreciate the county's inspections as they give us the ability to train constantly and ensure all food safety procedures are well maintained,” Patel said in an email. “We immediately retrained all employees and have procedures in place to make sure we are always within code.”
