Former UGA wide receiver Mikey Henderson had a sexual relationship with a Parkview High School student for more than two years while he was her teacher, police said. Henderson has been charged with sexual assault.

Henderson had oral sex with the now 18-year-old student at Parkview High School multiple times, an arrest warrant said. The girl was a student in one of his classes.

Friends of the student told school officials about the alleged relationship, and the student admitted the relationship to authorities. Henderson initially denied the allegations to police, but later admitted to having a sexual relationship with the female high school student.

The student is now 18, but the relationship lasted two and a half years, meaning the student was a minor when it began.

Henderson resigned from his job as a math teacher and assistant football coach at Parkview High School on Friday morning. Gwinnett County Public Schools Police and the district’s human resources department have been investigating Henderson for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student, the district said in a release.

Henderson was booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center at 11:11 a.m. Friday and is being held without bond.

Henderson was a wide receiver for the Bulldogs from 2004 to 2007 after playing football for Buford High School. He was hired as a teacher at Parkview High School in July 2013.

Henderson is one of three teachers arrested on sexual assault charges involving a student in the past three days. A Meadowcreek High School teacher and a long-term substitute teacher at Providence Christian Academy have also been arrested.
