The former Cobb County Fire Station #30 in Marietta is on the market.
The 2,600-square-foot, one-story building at 2370 Austell Road is listed for $300,000.
The Cobb County Board of Commissioners is applying to have the .22-acre property rezoned from "neighborhood shopping" to "neighborhood commercial retail."
The current zoning category was grandfathered in and is no longer valid, according to Cobb County Zoning Division Manager John Pederson.
The request is being made in an attempt to make the property more marketable; if approved, the new buyer wouldn't have to go through the rezoning process.
Pederson said the circa-1950 building — which was deemed by Cobb County to be surplus — has been marketed for more than a year without finding the right users.
The proposed use is for "retail, office, and/or restaurant," according to the application. Outgoing Commission Chairman Tim Lee, is listed as the representative.
If interested buyers are concerned about the small size, though, there are options.
The parcel could be assembled with others, or the building could be torn down, Pederson said.
This development is just one of those scheduled to be considered by Cobb County's planning commission at its Nov. 1 meeting. Explore the full agenda here or check out the interactive map below.
Any developments approved by the planning commission would still need final approval from the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.
