Witnesses said a gunman walked into a DeKalb County Chinese restaurant and killed a man while saying, “This is for my nephew.”
Dedrick Davis, 21, was shot Thursday night at Lucky Panda on South Hairston Road, according to a police report released Monday.
Davis, a customer, tried to run in the kitchen to escape as the assailant fired several rounds just before 9 p.m.
The report doesn’t say whether the shooter said anything other than the statement about his nephew.

The shooter left the scene.
When officers arrived, Davis lay face down. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
At the restaurant, police found a Colt Mustang XSP .380 handgun that had been stolen in Paulding County, the report said.
Police didn’t immediately respond Monday evening when asked if the shooter or motive had been identified.
