A fatal shooting at an Orlando gay nightclub that left 50 people dead and 53 hospitalized earlier in June has been ranked the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

The attack reignited debate over gun violence and mass shootings across the country.

There have been 14 shootings in the past ten months in Georgia, according to a database by the Gun Violence Archive.

The independent research group tracks gun violence in the United States and defines a mass shooting as an event where four or more people (not including the shooter) were shot or killed at the same general time and location.

The database lists 14 instances of mass shootings in Georgia in 2016. There were 19 mass shootings in the state last year.
