Johns Creek police have arrested a man they say is responsible for a string of robberies in north Fulton County and Gwinnett County, including a Friday robbery of a Duluth SunTrust Bank branch.

Robert Frank Mueller, 32, has been charged with robbery by intimidation in connection with the Duluth robbery. He was arrested by the Johns Creek Police Department on Tuesday.

Police say Mueller passed a note to a teller at the SunTrust Bank inside the Publix at 2750 Buford Hwy., saying he had a gun and demanding money. The teller handed over the money and the suspect fled in a car, according to a police department release.

A witness was able to take down a description and partial license plate number of the car the robber drove off in, leading police to Mueller. Multiple witnesses identified Mueller in a lineup.

The other robberies Mueller has been linked to took place in Roswell, Johns Creek and Suwanee. The FBI assisted Duluth police and police in the other municipalities in this investigation.
