The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce will have a new president and CEO in 2018.

Brandon Beach, a Republican state senator representing District 21, will resign from his post with the chamber effective Jan. 1, 2018.

A press release says that Beach will be pursuing his position with the North Fulton Community Improvement District full-time, as its executive director. Beach has been president and CEO of the north Fulton chamber for 15 years.

“It has been my greatest honor and joy to serve the people of north Fulton,” Beach said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing to serve the people of this region both with the CID and the Senate.”

Beach added that resigning from the chamber was a “difficult” decision.

With the North Fulton CID, Beach will focus on infrastructure and transportation.

"I want to continue to build upon the work we have done at the chamber over the years in improving the economic prosperity and quality of life in north Fulton,” Beach said.

The chamber’s executive board will begin a national search for his successor.
