Officials are continuing their search for a man whose boat sank in a Rockdale County lake.

Troy Cobb, 46, has been missing since Saturday when he was on a fishing trip with two other people at Black Shoals Park, near the Big Haynes Creek recreational area.

After two of the boat’s batteries died, it began taking on water, officials said.

The passengers were able to get to shore, but Cobb disappeared shortly after the boat sank, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Man Who Disappeared On Lake Called For Help

“We resumed the search before 9 a.m. (Monday),” Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon said. “We are using sonar equipment, and divers from Rockdale County are on scene today as well. We will continue searching until dark.”

The man disappeared after his boat started taking on water.

McKinnon said it was a small fishing boat, approximately 16 feet long. He said the boaters had been on the lake for several hours prior to the incident.

Cobb’s daughter Rebekah told Channel 2 she’s “just trying to hold on to hope.”

"He's a great person. He's so caring. He loves everybody,” Rebekah Cobb said. “He would help anybody in the world."
