A Sandy Springs Innovation and Technology Center has been announced as a gathering place for tech-oriented “collaboration, research and social events,” according to an announcement by the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber.
The Technology Center is to open in January or February in a 3,700-square-foot space in Northpoint Town Center at Abernathy and Peachtree-Dunwoody roads. The facility is a public-private partnership involving the Chamber, Sandy Springs Development Authority and Cousins Property.
The center will operate as a 501(c)3 entity and be managed by the Chamber. It will offer educational seminars and programs, information on city, county and state programs, and an out-of-office location for local workers and start-up creators.
Chamber Chairman Lever Stewart cited the center’s location between downtown Atlanta and the North Fulton communities, across the street from the Sandy Springs MARTA station, as appealing to technology-oriented companies and millennials who live in the city and seek tech opportunities near public transportation.
