Roswell has begun a pilot program for the summer, testing a trolley this summer as a new means for public transportation.

Rides are free, and the trolley will run on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., beginning May 12, and running through Aug. 5. Roswell will spend $13,200 on the program.

Roswell's city council recently approved the trolley pilot project to move people through the historic district during the busiest times of the week – Friday and Saturday nights – when parking is hard to come by. They say this will allow folks to park at City Hall and catch the trolley to Canton Street and the Historic Town Square.

The trolley has 10 stops. Here’s where you can get on and off in Roswell this summer:

  • City Hall (38 Hill Street)
  • Corner of Oak Street and Bush Street
  • Bulloch Hall (180 Bulloch Ave.)
  • Corner of Magnolia Street and Mimosa Blvd.
  • Corner of Canton Street and Webb Street
  • Corner of Plum Tree Way and Canton Street
  • Corner of Green Street and Cherry Way
  • Corner of Green Street and Woodstock Street
  • Corner of Canton Street and Thompson Place
  • Corner of Norcross Street and East Alley

Roswell says it will gather ridership data and feedback throughout the summer to gauge the effectiveness of the trolley.
