If you haven’t been to the grocery store yet, it could be too late — if your nearest grocery store is Publix, at least.

Brenda Reid, a spokeswoman for the grocery giant, announced that all Publix stores in metro Atlanta will close early on Friday, between 7 and 8 p.m., because of Winter Storm Benji.

Reid added that the stores will re-open between 8 and 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Publix locations in the following cities are affected by these hour changes: Acworth, Alpharetta, Atlanta, Bethlehem, Braselton, Brookhaven, Buford, Canton, Carrolton, Conyers, Covington, Cumming, Dacula, Dallas, Dawsonville, Decatur, Douglasville, Duluth, Fairburn, Fayetteville, Flowery Branch, Gainesville, Hoschton, Johns Creek, Kennesaw, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Lithia Springs, Lithonia, Loganville, Mableton, Marietta, Morrow, Newnan, Norcross, Peachtree City, Powder Springs, Rome, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Smyrna, Snellville, Stone Mountain, Sugar Hill, Suwanee, Tucker, Tyrone, Villa Rica, Winder and Woodstock.

He has been ferrying various things back and forth and is surprised he still has power. Vinings residents were dealing with a major flooding issue Tuesday, as the Chattahoochee River made its way along the banks near Paces Ferry Road.  Many residents with upscale homes were hit hard, some for the second time since an earlier post millennia flooding episode. Since early Monday, seven lives have been taken and several other people remain missing. The record-setting rains also have closed schools and roads and have left people stranded in their homes. The river's level near Vinings was at 27.36 feet before daybreak Tuesday after cresting at 28.1 feet overnight. Flood stage is 14 feet, and anything above 20 feet is considered "major" flooding.
