UPDATE: The trail will re-open Nov. 19.

ORIGINAL STORY (published Oct. 6): Beware, pedestrians: The Chamblee Rail Trail will be temporarily closed starting Monday.

The closure will be implemented by Connolly — developers of a new mixed-use building called Parkview on Peachtree — in order to construct retaining walls.

It is not clear how long the closure will last.

The timeline will depend on the site conditions once they start digging, according to a spokesperson.

The trail will be closed between the Peachtree Boulevard underpass and Keswick Park, noticeable by the installation of construction fencing and signs posted at each end.

The trail, near the Chamblee MARTA station, was also closed earlier this year so Connolly could construct a decorative timber bridge over it.
