A 34-year-old Hiram man died of injuries sustained in a Cobb County traffic collision about 7:30 a.m. Monday, officials said.

Thony-Lourd Ciceron was seated in the rear passenger seat of a Hyundai Accent when it collided with a GMC Safari on C.H. James Parkway at Hill Road in Powder Springs, Cobb County police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Delk said.

Ciceron was pronounced dead at Cobb Hospital, Delk said.

Investigators said the GMC Safari was traveling north on C.H. James Parkway and as it approached the intersection of Hill Road, the Hyundai Accent turned left in the path of the Safari, Delk said. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The driver of the Hyundai was identified as 32-year-old Ronald L. White of Marietta. He was taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Delk said.

The driver of the GMC was identified as 39-year-old Torre D. Hayes of Marietta. He did not require medical attention at the scene, Delk said.

While charges have not been filed, the collision remains under investigation.
