Norcross is set to break ground on a new park dedicated to sustainable life skills. Discovery Garden Park will serve as a nature center, community garden and neighborhood gathering place on the grounds of the Norcross Welcome Center and Museum, 189 Lawrenceville Street.

The DGP will feature an outdoor classroom pavilion, a grilling station, native plant collections, a pollinator garden, a children’s garden and an organic community garden. The community garden will offer citizens the opportunity to grow their own fruits, vegetables and flowers.

Park organizers are raising funds to build a greenhouse and furnish the new garden park through corporate sponsorships, fundraising events including a “Garden to Table BBQ” dinner on May 22, and through a DGP’s engraved brick campaign.
