More than 60 female veterans will soon receive a baby shower, not from a friend or family member, but from the American Red Cross.

The expecting mothers will receive donated gifts including car seats, strollers and diapers at the shower and lunch, the nonprofit announced Thursday.

Atlanta is home to the largest number of pregnant veterans in the country, according to the news release.

Tiffany Circle, a group of women who advance the Red Cross mission, is partnering with an Atlanta VA Medical Center committee to host the baby shower.

The private event will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at American Red Cross in Midtown, 1955 Monroe Drive NE.
