Renovations to Tribble Mill Park have been completed eight years after the project was first funded by Gwinnett County SPLOST (special purpose local option sales tax).

The Lawrenceville park has a new playground, plaza, shade shelter and more features, according t to the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation Department. The playground is “nature-themed,” with climbing boulder and logs for children to play on. There are also “multi-generational swings” and “challenging climbing features,” a release said. The project was funded in 2009.

There are several handicap-accessible features included in the renovation, including new ramps. Pedestrian bridges connecting two pavilions and new seating has also been added.

“GCPR believes that playing is the vehicle for exploring and learning, developing new skills and connecting with others,” the department said in the release. “Parks are a place of community, and an important contributor to the environment and health of Gwinnett’s residents.”
