For nearly two decades, Netherworld Haunted House has been located at 6624 Dawson Blvd. in Norcross.
But there's a chance that in the future, thrill-seekers will need to enter a different address in their GPS — one, potentially, in Stone Mountain.
It appears the company is interested in moving to a property with two warehouses totaling 52,830 square feet along West Park Place Boulevard, according to an application filed with Gwinnett County Oct. 7.
“After nearly 20 years of operation, Netherworld has decided to relocate its operations to southern Gwinnett County near Stone Mountain,” a letter in the application said.
However, solid details about the move are unclear.
"The Netherworld team has no comment at this time," according to a spokesperson.
Perhaps anticipating questions from the community and the Department of Planning & Development about unwanted traffic, representatives for the high-tech entertainment company seem to be proactively addressing the issue.
"The property is appropriately situated to provide convenient access for Netherworld's guests without placing an undue burden on traffic infrastructure and other public utilities," the letter said.
The application requests a special use permit for an outdoor recreation and entertainment facility and to rezone the property.
The case is on schedule to be heard at the Dec. 7 Planning Commission meeting.
